A lively artist as popular as her work, Renee's talent was first noticed when she created caricatures of her high school teachers and sold them as her earliest commission work.
As a professional artist she has stretched her ability from pencil portraits, children's book illustration, and paintings: oil, watercolor and now murals in which she has teamed up with fellow Best of Missouri Hands artist Fred Schollmeyer.
Recently her graphite piece "Jewell" collectively won First Place, Best of Show, and Peoples' Choice in several professional artist shows. She has also won First Place, Best of Show, and Peoples' Choice in oil as well. It is the raw love of art, the beauty in her travels, and passion for her children that really shines through. Everything of Renee's comes from her heart.
You can find updated information of Renee Nilges' works on this website and facebook. The collaborative mural works may be found at the Beula Baptist Church in Belle, the Stinsen Morrison Hecker law firm in Jefferson City, and the Shawnee Bend Bank at the Lake of the Ozarks. Or visit the Redbud festival at Wenwood Farm Winery, or one of her oil painting classes where you can meet her in person. Meeting new people is one of the most exciting perks of her work.
"My goal is to share the world I love with others through my art."
